Substance use is a widespread issue that impacts communities across the nation, and Idaho is no exception. Addressing this crisis requires compassion, education, and strong community partnerships. In Sandpoint, we are proud to work closely with the Panhandle Health District to expand access to lifesaving resources and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction.

Our Mission

Our shared goal is to provide intervention and prevention education to health care professionals, first responders, community groups, and the general public. Through these efforts, we aim to increase awareness, strengthen community response, and support individuals and families affected by substance use.

 

Narcan Distribution & Training

As part of our commitment to community safety, we distribute Narcan (naloxone) during our trainings and at public events. These trainings teach participants how to:

• Recognize the signs of an opioid overdose

• Administer Narcan quickly and confidently

• Respond effectively while waiting for emergency services

 

Narcan is safe, easy to use, and proven to reverse opioid overdoses when given in time.

 

Community Partnership

Together with our community partners, we are working diligently to find solutions, reduce harm, and ensure that everyone in our region has access to the tools and knowledge that save lives.

 

Free Narcan Training

The Panhandle Health District offers free Narcan trainings, and the link provided on this site will take you directly to their official free training page through Idaho Health & Welfare. From there, you can easily sign up, learn overdose‑response skills, and access additional resources to help keep our community safe.
